The Minnesota History Center in St. Paul recently announced its “History Forum” series, featuring lectures by leading historians (usually with a new, highly acclaimed book to sell). This year’s theme is “This Fiery Trial: The U.S. Civil War.”

Tickets to the entire six-lecture series are $76, or $14 for an individual lecture. History Center admission, alas, is a separate cost, but if you just join the Minnesota Historical Society you’ll get into the Center anytime for free and save money on your History Forum tickets (four bucks off a single ticket, or twenty off the series).

All lectures in the series are on Saturdays, 10am and again at 2pm. Here are the dates/topics/speakers for the year:
