Discussing the Emancipation Proclamation

As we noted last week, the National Endowment for the Humanities recently celebrated the 150th anniversary of the Emancipation Proclamation by organizing a webcast discussion of that document with an all-star panel of historians.

AHA Today has published a summary of each panelist’s comments (and their responses to two rather interesting questions from students in the audience). And you can watch the video of the full event below:
