Upcoming Job Fairs and Employer Events

Bethel’s Office of Career Development and Calling keeps a list of upcoming job fairs, employer campus visits, and other sessions that current students and recent alumni might find helpful. You can register for most of them through that office’s online system.

Coming up this fall:

United Health Group on Campus (Wednesday, September 25th, on campus): Meet with a Bethel alum now working for UHG — individual meetings from 1-4pm for resume and interviewing advice; then an informational session on internships and careers at UHG from 4-5pm in BC468.

2013 Sports Internship & Career Fair (Thursday, September 26th, Target Field): The 9th annual such fair, hosted by the Minnesota Twins, featuring teams and sports-related organizations from the Upper Midwest. Registration is $25 and space is limited. Call (800) 33-TWINS and ask to purchase tickets for the fair; more information at the Twins’ career opportunities page.

Washington University Grad School Info Session (Tuesday, October 8th, on campus): Washington University’s Brown School will be giving a presentation on its graduate programs in social work and public health — 4-5pm in CC119. History alum Lauren Peffley (’09) recently started the master’s of social work program at Washington University.

Target on Campus (Wednesday, October 9th; Monday, October 21st): Target Corporation will have representatives available in CC 322 from 9am to 3pm on the 9th to review resumes and/or conduct mock interviews — schedule an appointment through Career Development. Then Target will be back on the 21st (11am – 2pm, Brushaber Commons) to recruit for seasonal work at nearby stores and for an executive team internship.

Free Student Career Workshop, Job Fair and TV Station Tour (Saturday, October 12th, Coffman Union, University of Minnesota): NATPE hosts a free event for students interested in TV and radio. It starts with a workshop featuring local broadcasting professionals (9:30am), then continues with a job fair (noon) and a tour of KSTP-TV (2pm). RSVP at the event site.

Minnesota Government and Nonprofit Career Fair (Monday, October 28th, Coffman Union, Univ. of Minnesota): From 10am – 3pm, the U’s Coffman Union will host the annual career fair for students at area universities interested in working in the public or nonprofit sectors. The employer list includes federal, state, and local government agencies, plus nonprofits like Catholic Charities, College Possible, Lutheran Social Service, the Minnesota Historical Society, Minnesota Reading and Math Corps, and New Life Family Services. There’s no cost, but you do need to register in advance by going to Career Development (CC 322) no later than the 23rd.
