Jonathan Edwards and the Future of Global Christianity

McClymond & McDermott, The Theology of Jonathan EdwardsThis week Bethel welcomes Gerald R. McDermott, Jordan-Trexler Professor of Religion at Roanoke College, to campus for a pair of talks.

On Thursday night Dr. McDermott will give a lecture on “Jonathan Edwards and the Future of Global Christianity” at 7pm in CC 313, with discussion following in the lounge outside that classroom. It’s a topic that reflects the speaker’s interests: two of his fifteen books are The Theology of Jonathan Edwards (written with Michael J. McClymond; winner of the 2013 theology/ethics book award from Christianity Today) and Can Evangelicals Learn from World Religions?

Then Dr. McDermott will also speak in Chapel on Friday morning (10:15am, Great Hall), with an introduction from our own AnneMarie Kooistra.

Please contact Dr. Dan Ritchie, director of the Humanities Program, if you have any questions.
