While much of Bethel University departs the frigid tundra of Minnesota for more exotic or warmer locations in January, there are some students and faculty who remain. Some of them were studying the American West in History 223L. This course has a tendency to attract the best, brightest, and most ridiculous of the “left behind,” and this year was no different. We read, we studied, we discussed, we learned, we imagined, and we dressed up in ridiculous “western” outfits for the last day of class. Thanks to all the students who made this course worth enduring Minnesota’s bleak midwinter.
