Watch the Bethel at War Library Presentation

Last Thursday Prof. Chris Gehrz and Fletcher Warren ’15 gave the last Bethel Library presentation of the year, an update on their Edgren Scholars collaborationBethel at War, 1914-2014:

Among other topics, Warren and Gehrz reflected on the innovative possibilities inherent in digital history but also explained why they ultimately returned to more traditional modes of scholarship as their research took them deeper into topics like conscientious objection and dissent, nativism and immigration, and the relationship between Bethel and its denomination.

The project itself is temporarily available for preview, but after Memorial Day weekend it will go offline for the summer, while Gehrz and Warren complete their research and write the remainder of the interpretive essays they plan for each of the four major conflicts covered in the time period.
