Whether you’re a student starting to think about how to connect your historical studies to the job market or a recent alum looking to start or change careers, be sure to check out these upcoming events:
If you haven’t been by Bethel’s Office of Career Development and Calling (CC 322), stop by today between 11am – 2pm for free coffee or hot chocolate and a chance to win a $100 Target gift card. This office is a hugely valuable resource, with services for students and alumni alike, but one that too many people wait to discover until their last semester at Bethel.
Oct. 23rd – Government & Nonprofit Job Fair
One perk of being at Bethel is that you have access to this special event, held 10am – 3pm at Coffman Memorial Union on the University of Minnesota’s Minneapolis campus. Over eighty employers in the public and nonprofit sector will be there, ranging from AmeriCorps and College Possible to the CIA and FBI. It’s free to all of our students and alumni, but you’re encouraged to pre-register with the Career Development office.
(This year the fair falls on Bethel’s Fall Break, so it’s an especially good time for students to explore career opportunities and start making connections with potential employers.)
Oct. 28th – Project Ex
Now in its third year, Project Ex is Bethel’s annual professional and career development seminar for students. While it’s co-sponsored by the Business & Economics department, Project Ex open to all majors and has breakout sessions that should be helpful for our students: e.g., networking, resumes, LinkedIn, professional etiquette, negotiating job offers, the transition from college to workforce, and connecting faith and work.
Project Ex runs from 9am – noon and takes place on the Fall advising day, so it should fit any student’s schedule. Register at this link.
